MacTaggart is a relatively new neighborhood in southwest Edmonton located in Terwilliger (Heights) that was officially approved by the council in 2005 as part of the larger structure plan of Terwilliger. There is a total of seven neighborhoods in Terwilliger.

Mactaggart is bordered to the east by the Whitemud Creek Ravine and features mainly estate homes on larger lots.
 
There is one k-9 school in MacTaggart which is Nellie Carlson School.
