The Mount Royal neighborhood in Calgary is split between Upper Mount Royal and Lower Mount Royal. Lower Mount Royal is an eclectic neighbourhood bounded by the energetic 17th Avenue to the North. The housing mix closer to 17th avenue is manly comprised of lowrise multifamily homes, townhomes and duplexes. In Upper Mount Royal, Calgary, The housing mix is primarily all single family estate style homes, many with larger lots and mature trees. Many older homes have been demolished and stately mansions built in their place, or extensively renovated throughout the years. The community is bounded by 14th street to the West and Elbow Park to the east.
