Windermere is a master-planned community containing a number of distinct neighborhoods. The community originally started development in the late 1960s through to the ’90s with some larger homes by the river and now intermingled among the newest development that is occurring today. Luxury homes in Windermere benefit from having a multitude of amenities integrated into the Area Structure Plan (ASP).
 
Windermere features a number of different neighborhoods with most of the luxury real estate concentrated in Upper Windermere, Riverpointe, and Westpointe, however many neighborhoods also feature a phase of estate lots that feature luxury builders and higher price-points.
 
Windermere has two schools – St. John XXII, a separate K-9 Catholic School, and Dr. Maragaret Ann Armour, a K-9 school.
